FAQ
What’s the difference between a workspace, site, and space?
Workspace: The Admin hub for your team. Members and Guests cannot access the workspace
Site: Public-facing community page. Members and Guests can access only site
Space: Feature modules inside a site. You can use the default spaces (Feedback, Roadmap, Changelog, Status) when creating a new community or create the others as your needs.
Can I customize the layout of each space?
Yes. You can choose between List, Board, or Feed layouts for each space. Layouts are per-site, so the same type of space can look different on different sites.
What's the difference between the Public site and the Widget?
A public site is automatically created when the account is set up so that your customers can give ideas or feedback here. You can create more than 1 public site for your community.
A widget is embedded into your own website so that your users can share feedback, view roadmaps, check changelogs, or follow status updates without leaving your app. Each public site has a corresponding widget.
Can I restrict access to a space so only certain members can see it?
Yes. You can make a space secret and assign access only to selected members. Other members will not see the space in the navigation.
If an Admin, Moderator, or Member leaves a space, can they rejoin by themselves?
Open spaces: Yes. Anyone can join an open space by themselves
Private/Secret spaces:
Admin: Yes, they can rejoin the space by themselves.
Members, Moderators: No, once they leave a private/secret space, they cannot rejoin it on their own. They will need to be re-invited or re-added by a Space Moderator or Admin.
Can members add tags, statuses, or taxonomies to posts?
Tags: Only staff (Owner, Admin, Moderator) can update tags. Members can only view tags and filter by tags on public sites.
Statuses: Only staff (Owner, Admin, Moderator) can update statuses. Members can only view statuses and filter by statuses on public sites.
Taxonomies: If a space’s form customization allows members to use a taxonomy field, they can select from the existing terms of that taxonomy. However, only staff can create new terms.
How can I prevent members from creating posts or comments?
Go to Space Settings and turn off the options Allow members to create posts and Allow members to comment. Members who join this space will then only be able to view content.
Can a moderator delete their assigned space?
No. Only the Owner or Admins can delete spaces. Moderators can manage posts, moderations, and members within the space but cannot remove the space itself.
Can a moderator create posts in spaces they are not assigned to?
No. Moderators can only create and manage posts in the spaces they are assigned to. For other spaces, they will have the access permissions as regular members.
What happens to my role after transferring workspace ownership?
Once you transfer ownership to another user, your role automatically changes to Admin. You will still retain full management permissions (except workspace deletion and ownership transfer).
